Potential benefit of HSR and ECRL to the people living nearby.

Hi peeps! So today i want to share with you the potential benefit of HSR and ECRL to the people living nearby. I know that some of you might think “hmmm, what is HSR and ECRL?”. Before i write more about this, let me share with you what is HSR and ECRL.

High-Speed Rail (HSR) and East Coast Rail Line (ECRL). HSR, the Shinkansen of Malaysia, will run from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, covering seven stations, namely Bandar Malaysia, Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat and Iskandar Puteri, before ending in Jurong East in Singapore. Meanwhile, East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) is a proposed railway line connecting Kuala Lumpur to the states of the East Coast Economic Region namely Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan. The rail line will carry both passengers and freight from the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia to its East Coast and vice versa.

So, now i will share with you the potential benefit of HSR and ECRL to the people nearby. Benefit HSR and ECRL:

1)     Reduced travel time

As we know, we spend a lot of our time on the road to move from a place to another place. For example, if we drive for KL to Singapore, it will take at least 5 hours to reach there. But with HSR it will only take less than 90 minutes to reach Singapore. Without HSR and ECRL we know that people choose to take flight to reduce their travel time. But they need to spend about one hour to go the KLIA as it’s located far from KL and housing areas and the cost are higher than driving.

 

2)     Reduced traffic congestion

Other than that, HSR and ECRL can reduce traffic congestion especially on public holidays. As we know that Malaysian tend to travel more on public holidays and they spend most of the time on highways because of traffic congestion. Other than that, they need to spend more on fuel because the traffic congestion as it consumed more fuel when stopping rather than moving. But with HSR and ECRL we can reduce this problem because people will choose public transport more than driving.

 

3)     Reduced pollution

As we know that car release carbon dioxide that can lead to air pollution. By using HSR and ECRL we can reduce the use of car and reduce the number of pollution caused by car. In fact, we can save our mother earth for our future generation.

 

4)     Expand job opportunities

It is because they need manpower to run the system and to maintain the services.  So the will be new job opportunities. Other than that, it also can increase international job opportunities because HSR and ECRL both can reduce the travel time to our neighbouring countries.
